Yin&Yang Studio ("we", "our", "us") operates the Sezgi mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

Account Data: When you use Sezgi, an anonymous account is created automatically. No email, name, or personal identifier is required to use the app. If you choose to sign in with Google, your Google account email and display name are linked to your Sezgi profile so your data survives device changes.

Birth Date (Optional): If you choose to provide your birth date for horoscope features, it is stored securely and used solely to determine your zodiac sign and compatibility readings.

User-Generated Content: Text you enter for fortune readings (dream descriptions, questions, names) is sent to our AI processing service to generate your reading. This content is stored temporarily to display your reading and in your reading history.

Photos (Optional, Object-Based Readings): For coffee cup (kahve falı) and palm (el falı) reading features, photos you upload are processed by our AI service. Coffee cup photos may be processed by Anthropic Claude or Moonshot Kimi; palm photos are processed by Anthropic Claude. These photos are sent to the AI provider, retained briefly for the duration of the reading generation, and are not stored permanently on our servers.

Photos (Optional, Face-Based Reading — Special Category Data): The face reading (yüz falı, mian xiang) feature processes photos of your face. We treat face photos with heightened care because facial images may be classified as biometric data under several legal frameworks (GDPR Article 9 special category, Illinois BIPA, California CCPA, and similar regimes worldwide). Specifically:

Face photos are sent to our premium AI provider (Anthropic Claude) for the sole purpose of generating your face reading. They are NOT used to identify, recognize, or build a biometric template of you.
Face photos are processed in transit only — not stored on Sezgi servers, not retained by Anthropic for training (per Anthropic's API data-use policy), and not shared with any third party beyond the AI provider that generates the reading.
By tapping "Read My Face" you affirmatively consent to this processing for the single purpose of generating that reading. You may delete your account at any time and we will erase the associated reading body from our servers (the photo itself was never stored).
If you live in a jurisdiction that requires explicit biometric consent (Illinois, Texas, Washington, EU, UK, etc.) and you wish to revoke consent, simply do not use the face reading feature; alternatively delete your account through Settings → Delete Account.

Usage Data: We collect anonymized usage statistics (features used, reading counts) to improve the app experience.

2. AI-Powered Features

Sezgi uses artificial intelligence to generate fortune readings. Our AI services are provided by:

Anthropic Claude (United States — premium text, palm readings, face readings, default photo readings, and AI fallback. Inputs are sent over TLS 1.2+; Anthropic's API data-use policy excludes inputs from model training.)
Moonshot Kimi (Singapore — limited coffee cup image reading canary only. Face and palm photos are not sent to Moonshot Kimi.)
DeepSeek (China — text readings only. Sensitive content such as face, palm, or coffee cup photos is not sent to DeepSeek.)
Google Gemini (United States — daily horoscope batch generation only. No individual user input is sent.)

When you request a reading, your input (text or images) is sent to the relevant AI service through our secure server infrastructure. The AI providers process your input to generate a reading response. We do not share your personal identity with these providers — only the content necessary for generating your reading. Where servers are located outside your region (e.g. DeepSeek in China, Anthropic and Google in the United States), your input is transferred to those jurisdictions for processing.

Important: AI-generated readings are for entertainment purposes only and should not be considered professional advice of any kind. The face reading feature does NOT perform face recognition, identification, or biometric template extraction — it produces a narrative interpretation only, similar to a tarot reading interpreting an image rather than identifying you.

3. How We Use Your Information

To generate personalized fortune readings
To display your reading history
To determine your zodiac sign (if birth date is provided)
To track daily usage limits
To improve app functionality and user experience

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS infrastructure) with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data.

Locally saved favorites are stored on your device using encrypted local storage and are not transmitted to our servers.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics: For app performance monitoring and crash reporting
Google AdMob: For displaying advertisements to free-tier users. AdMob may collect device identifiers for ad personalization. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings.
RevenueCat: For managing premium subscriptions
Supabase: For secure data storage and authentication

6. Advertising

Free-tier users may see advertisements served by Google AdMob. You can watch optional reward ads to earn extra readings. Ad-related data collection follows Google's advertising policies. Premium users enjoy an ad-free experience.

7. Children's Privacy

Sezgi is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Your reading history is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time through the app settings, which will permanently remove all your data from our servers within 30 days.

Locally saved favorites are removed when you uninstall the app or clear app data.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal data
Request deletion of your account and data
Opt out of personalized advertising
Export your data

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by updating the "Last updated" date above.
